The Ambassador of the European Union to Nepal, Her Excellency Nona Deprez, addressed the Strengthening Employer Engagement in CTEVT Schools (SEECS) planning workshop in Pokhara on 30th March 2022, attended by high level CTEVT officials. On the occasion, the Member Secretary of CTEVT, Mr. Jeev Narayan Kafle, also announced the expansion of support to four new schools under the SEECS project, in recognition of the value that currently participating schools have gained through strengthened engagement with employers.
In her address, the ambassador wished all participants to ensure the SEECS project continues to have a sustainable impact on the sector throughout the remaining implementation period. The European Union has played a key role in supporting the development of TVET sector in Nepal in recent years, through funding the TVET Practical Partnership programme, implemented jointly by CTEVT and the British Council. She emphasised that the project should continue to further strengthen links between employers and the TVET system for improving employability, and the important role that training plays in developing green skills for a sustainable future.
