Before participating in Assistant Tea Technician Training, Manoj Khatiwada had some limited traditional knowledge and skills for tea cultivation and was unsatisfied by the low yields he produced in his tea garden which barely covered costs.

Manoj joined CTCF’s three-month long Assistant Tea Technician Training where he got a chance to blend his traditional knowledge new skills on tea cultivation, management, and processing- with a focus on improving knowledge organic techniques, reducing  chemical use, and seeking greener ways to cultivate tea.

Manoj realized that the training has brought a lot of change in his attitude towards tea farming and fortified him with improved methods of cultivation and pest and disease management.

"I have applied all the knowledge and skills acquired from the training into practice, as a result of which tea production in my tea garden has grown by 50% from previous years."
