On the 16th December, Dakchyata convened a joint meeting with a group of key stakeholders from Nepal’s employer associations. The joint-meeting focused on the development of a model for an employer led labour market secretariat (ELMS) and allowed Nepali stakeholders to discuss how this initiative could be most effectively developed. There was an engaged sharing of ideas on what should be the guiding principles for the ELMS, this included agreement on the importance of an approach that embraced the values of inclusion, collaboration and coordination. The meeting ended with broad agreement on both a proposed model and an enthusiasm to move forwards with an initiative that will help to better capture the voice of Nepali employers in the important conversation around skills.
