Project: Skill Development for Sustainable Employment

 

Objective: Enhance the market relevance of tourism focused TVET based on sector needs and increase the supply of highly skilled tourism sector workers

The main purpose of Skill Development for Sustainable Employment (SDSE) project is to ensure supply of skilled human resources in the hospitality sector within Ilam district through technical and vocational training.

Through the proposed project intervention, skilled and certified human resources in the hospitality sector will be developed to meet the recent demand and gap of labour market creating better opportunity in the long-run.  The certified labor in the market would better serve in the hospitality business and scales up their economic sustainability establishing themselves in the labor market. The technical and vocational trainings for the labors will be conducted to balance demand and supply following the semi apprentice model where there will be direct engagement of employer and the trainees will have opportunity to learn in the workplace.

 

The target groups are socially disadvantaged groups, women, unemployed youth, migrant workers and other individuals selected through criteria within the Ilam district covering all the local levels will be the direct beneficiaries of the proposed project.
