Employer engagement in decision making within Nepal’s TVET sector makes businesses better able to plan for growth.
Through Dakchyata’s support, employers are coming together, and communicating more effectively with relevant government and education institutions. We are working to facilitate the sharing of information on employer needs, helping employers to access people with the right skills at the right time.
An employer-led labour market secretariat is being formed with employer associations across Nepal. The secretariat will bring together employers’ views on the need for specific qualifications and skills, helping to ensure that TVET training providers are supplying students with the right types of skills. We are also funding Practical Partnership Pilot projects across Nepal to pioneer methods for engaging employers in TVET, including work focused specifically on strengthening links between schools and employers.
