Project: Promoting market led technical and vocational skills for employment

Objective: Improving employability of unskilled and semi-skilled youths on agriculture, tourism, and construction

Sectors: Agriculture, Construction, Tourism

The project Promoting Market led Technical and Vocational Skills for Employment, implemented by NEEDS Nepal, aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of hundreds of unskilled and semi-skilled young people in Kanchanpur, Kailali and Bajhang districts, giving them the skills they need to fill gaps in the labour market or successfully move into self-employment.

The project will pilot an innovative partnership approach through the creation of ten employment dialogue forums - new bodies responsible for creating and sustaining strong links across private and public sector partners.

The pilot aims to transform opportunities for young people by preparing them for employment in the construction, tourism and agricultural sectors. The project also has a strong focus on self-employment, aiming to help training graduates expand their options to start their own businesses and create employment.
